Jeffrey M. Eilender

Jeffrey M. Eilender joined the Firm in July 1995 and became a partner in 1999.  Mr. Eilender received his A.B. from Cornell University in 1988 (magna cum laude in History), where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from Columbia University Law School in 1991, where he was Senior Editor of the Law Review, a Harlan Fisk Stone Scholar, and winner of the Whitney North Seymour Medal for Trial Advocacy.  Mr. Eilender clerked for the Honorable Charles M. Metzner, United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York, from 1991 to 1992, and then for the Honorable Morton I. Greenberg, United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, from 1992 to 1993.  Before joining the Firm, Mr. Eilender practiced with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.  He represents clients in securities, corporate governance, antitrust, insurance coverage, telecommunications, real estate, and intellectual property litigation and appeals.  Mr. Eilender also negotiates employment contracts for employers and highly compensated executives and litigates employment disputes.  His current representations include Mr. Eilender’s acting as lead counsel for one of the world's largest insurance companies in a $130 million dispute arising from the acquisition of a Latin American subsidiary; his prosecuting and defending several copyright and trademark infringement lawsuits for online personality Perez Hilton; and his serving as a lead counsel for Judith Regan in defense of a lawsuit brought against her by Dreier LLP, in which Mr. Eilender was the only attorney to depose Marc Dreier during the time he was under home confinement.
